There’s a reason the windscreen is bigger than the rearview mirror — because what’s in front of you matters more than what’s behind you.

Yet most people spend their lives looking backward ,replaying the past, analysing the mistakes, and carrying around old stories like badges of identity. You can’t drive forward staring at the rearview mirror. You’ll crash every time

The past has one purpose: to teach you. Not to trap you.

I got caught in this trap for a while after leaving my last platform. It drives unnecessary anger and ultimately failure. Most importantly it distracts you from what’s in front of you. Other people’s failures are not your problem, let them deal with it and own it.

The truth is, too many people use their past as a permission slip to stay stuck.
“I’ve tried before.”
“I messed up.”
“I wasn’t good enough.”
“I lost control.”

No. You learned. You got data. You got scars. You got experience.

That’s not failure, that’s feedback for your brain. That’s the price of growth.

The problem isn’t what’s behind you. The problem is that you keep staring at it instead of driving where you want to go.

Life doesn’t care what you used to do.It cares what you do next.

The future rewards movement, not memory. You want to change your body? Stop obsessing over the one you had 10 years ago. You want to rebuild your habits? Stop comparing it to when it was “easier.” You want to feel alive again? Stop living in a highlight reel from a different season of your life.

The road ahead doesn’t need your apology — it needs your attention.

Here’s the reality:

You can’t rewrite what’s behind you but you can absolutely redefine what’s coming.

The rearview mirror is small for a reason — glance at it, learn from it, but keep your eyes on the road ahead. Because if you want to get anywhere worth going, you need both hands on the wheel and your focus forward.

The windscreen is bigger because the future deserves more of your attention than your past ever will. So stop staring at what’s done. Look ahead. Accelerate.
