Today marks my 100th blog.
When I sat down to write the first one, I honestly had no idea whether anyone would read it. I wasn’t trying to become a writer.I wasn’t trying to become an author.
I simply wanted to share ideas, lessons and observations from a life spent in high-performance sport, business, coaching and helping people move more and live better. Some blogs have resonated with thousands of people. Some have disappeared quietly into the internet. Some have sparked debate. Some have challenged people. Some have challenged me.
But every single one has forced me to think more deeply about what I believe. Writing has an interesting way of doing that. It forces clarity. It forces honesty. It forces you to slow down long enough to turn experiences into lessons worth sharing.
Over these 100 blogs, certain themes have continued to appear: Show up. Do the work. Move your body. Lift weights. Take ownership. Be kind. Be consistent. The basics still work.
In a world obsessed with hacks, shortcuts and quick fixes, I remain convinced that long-term success is still built on simple things done consistently over a long period of time. The other thing I’ve learnt is that ideas become far more powerful when they are shared.
Many of these blogs started as conversations with members, observations in the gym, lessons from elite sport, discussions with business leaders or moments with family and friends.
So thank you. Thank you to every person who has read one. Shared one.Commented on one. Disagreed with one. Or simply taken a lesson from one and applied it to your own life. The goal was never to write 100 blogs. The goal was simply to write the next one. And then the next one. And then the next one after that. Funny enough, that’s exactly how most worthwhile things in life happen.
One workout at a time. One decision at a time. One day at a time. One blog at a time. Here’s to the first 100. Now it’s time to get to work on number 101.
Huge love and High 5’s
Johno
